Textbooks’ properties with respect to scientific language, content and physical appearance. The appropriateness of the textbooks to the grade level at which they are prepared.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. list the principles used in the selection of primary school textbooks,
  2. evaluate the textbooks in terms of the theory, approach and philosophy of the curricula,
  3. analyze textbooks in terms of objectives, content, teaching-learning processes and evaluation features of the curriculum,
  4. evaluate the scientific language and expression used in textbooks,
  5. interpret the physical properties of textbooks such as printing, painting and shape,
  6. discuss the appropriateness of the textbook to student level,
  7. analyze the usability of textbooks.
