Introduction to digital speech processing. Review of DSP fundamentals. Acoustic theory of speech production. Speech perception, sound propagation in the vocal tract. Time domain methods. Frequency domain methods. Homomorphic speech processing. Linear predictive coding (LPC). Speech coding. Speech recognition/natural language processing.
